 VAL DI FASSA

The Fiemme Valley is one of the most important and well known winter areas of the Dolomites in the Alpine arc, in the extreme north of Italy. The resort covers an extensive area amid spectacular Dolomitic peaks and is part of the Dolomiti Super ski region – the world's largest. The Val di Fiemme ski resort encompasses the villages of Cavalese-Cermis, Ski Centre Latemar (Pampeago, Predazzo), Bellamonte/Alpe Luisa, Passo Rolle and Passo Oclini. All are located in beautiful surroundings and come with excellent facilities, making them ideal for families. There are fashionable boutiques and ski/sport shops, as well as pharmacies, food markets and handicrafts. Over 50,000 beds are available in hotels, apartments, private lodgings and cosy traditional farmhouses. Ice-skating and swimming are among other numerous activities. Traditional delicious Italian meals, along with other world cuisines, are served in the towns and on the slopes. A plethora of cafés, bars and clubs provide lively evening entertainment. There are 150kms of meticulously maintained ski and snowboard slopes at Val di Fiemme ski resort, across a variety of challenging terrain that encompasses 1,415m of vertical mountain. The longest run is 4.5kms. Fifty-one lifts, featuring gondolas, funiculars, chairlifts and platters, can lift up to 72,000 people per hour. For alternative skiing and snowboarding, Val di Fiemme is linked with the awesome Dolomiti Super ski region, which offers 1,200kms of varied skiing as well as the sightseeing in the various villages. The wine town of Bolzano offers a day away from the slopes and is noted for its typical Tyrolean character.
